Flood in the Marche, at least ten missing - guard

OTHER DAMAGES - Rescuers continued their work throughout the night and Sunday morning, albeit hampered by a new wave of bad weather. In the Macerata area some bridges have collapsed and there are isolated families in the countryside. Dozens of trees crashed by the wind also in other areas of the Marche but without serious consequences for people.

THE WORK NEVER DONE - He did not lose hope Tiziano Luconi, the father of little Mattia snatched from his mother's arms by a new wave of water and mud, after the one that forced them to abandon the car they were in. 'In three days I slept an hour and a half, but I had to overturn every trunk that is down there, right down to the last blade of grass, I Mattia must find it' said the man to Corriere della Sera . Someone, however, found scraps of cloth near the bridge that crosses the Misa river in the municipality of Barbara: they could be parts of the sweatshirt that the child was wearing and the hopes of finding him alive are almost faded. The father, however, still asks to look for him, precisely at that point and perhaps by resorting to molecular dogs: 'It's my whole life.' The carabinieri, meanwhile, are looking for documents that can clarify whether everything has been done to avoid the disaster. The Prosecutor of Ancona proceeds against unknown persons and investigates for culpable flooding and multiple manslaughter. In particular, attention is focused on the delays in securing the Misa embankments with the Investment and Employment Funds (Fio): there was talk of the need to carry them out already in 1986, there are millions of funds already allocated, but the works are blocked.
