WAR IS NOT A DESTINY – The Israeli actor and screenwriter, who is fluent in Arabic and was born of an Iraqi father and an Algerian mother, also addresses the issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: «I continue to hope that peace is possible, but respect is required, from both parts. There are many Arab countries with which we have excellent relations. War is not a destiny.'
THE GIRLFRIEND KILLED BY A PALESTINIAN – In his conversation with Oggi, Lior Raz reveals that the death of his fiancée Iris, murdered at the age of 18 by a young Palestinian, marked him deeply: «After that, everything changed for me. But I chose not to hate: hate is useless, it only brings death'. And he talks about how the series helped him to process his trauma when he was serving in the Israeli Special Forces: «In this country we are all suffering from post-traumatic stress. Fauda, in this sense, was my cure. Writing those scenes, acting them, was therapeutic.'
