gas heating THE ENERGY CRISIS HAS PUSHED THE GOVERNMENT TO DEFINE A NEW GAS CONSUMPTION CONTAINMENT PLAN. ON THE BASIS OF THE NEW RULES, THE DAYS AND TIMES OF USE OF THE GAS HEATING SYSTEMS CHANGE. THIS MODIFICATION COULD RESULT IN A CLEAR CUT IN GAS CONSUMPTION AND, THEREFORE, INTO CONSIDERABLE SAVINGS ON THE BILL. THE NEW SURVEY BY THE SOSTARIFFE.IT AND SEGUGIO.IT OBSERVATORY WILL ASSESS THE ACCESSIBLE SAVINGS WITH THE NEW RULES.

The new rules for heating , definite dal National plan for the containment of gas consumption , are ready to enter into force. In fact, over the course of the autumn and next winter, the way in which you use your heating will change significantly. The plan launched by the Government, in fact, defines a change to the heating switching on times, also going to provide for a cut in temperatures with the aim of reducing the consumption of natural gas.

According to Government estimates, this plan will result in a sharp drop in gas consumption necessary to address the current energy crisis. Shedding light on the effective savings guaranteed by the new consumption containment plan is the Observatory SOStariffe.it and Segugio.it which he estimated savings of 265 euros for an average family on the gas bill thanks to the adoption of the new regulations. Here are all the details:

HOW THE RULES FOR GAS HEATING WILL CHANGE IN THE COMING MONTHS

The new National plan for the containment of gas consumption it changes the normal rules for the use of gas heating to which we are accustomed. This is a series of regulatory changes that aim to achieve the goal of cutting gas consumption. In this way, it will be possible to reduce the effect of the energy crisis (and the skyrocketing cost of gas) on the Italian economy. The plan defined by the outgoing Government is divided into various points.

The first to consider is the change the dates for switching on and off the heating. As required by law, the switching on of the heating is postponed by 8 days while it shutdown is brought forward by 7 days. It should also be noted that there is also a reduction of 1 hour as regards the total hours of daily use of the heating systems. Naturally, the division into zones of the Italian territory remains confirmed.

The new rules are therefore the following:

  • Zone A : the heaters turn on on 8 December and turn off on 7 March; the daily use time is 5 hours a day
  • Zone B : the heaters turn on on 8 December and turn off on 23 March; the daily use time is 7 hours a day
  • Area C: the heaters turn on on November 22nd and turn off on March 23rd; the daily usage time is 9 hours a day
  • Zone D: the heaters turn on on November 8 and turn off on April 7; the daily use time is 11 hours a day
  • Zone E: the heaters turn on on October 22 and turn off on April 7; the daily usage time is 13 hours a day
  • Zone F: there are no restrictions on the use of heating

Each Italian municipality belongs to a precise climatic zone. As a guideline, Zone A is limited to very few areas (Lampedusa, Porto Empedocle) while Zone B covers important cities in Southern Italy such as Agrigento, Reggio Calabria, Messina and Trapani. Zone C, on the other hand, includes, among others, Naples, Imperia, Messina and Trapani. Zone D, on the other hand, coincides with various areas of the country including Rome, Florence and Foggia. Instead, Turin and Milan fall into Zone E, as well as Bologna and L'Aquila. In Zone F there are Belluno and Cuneo as well as various alpine areas.

Among the innovations envisaged by the National Plan for the containment of gas consumption there are also changes to the maximum temperature allowed in the house . The limit passes yes 20° to 19° C with a tolerance threshold of 2°C . As a result, the upper limit is raised to 21° C . It should also be noted that the Municipalities can count on a certain margin of flexibility, having the possibility of issuing specific ordinances with exceptions, to be justified, to the times of use in the event of particular periods of intense cold. The legislation also provides for various exemptions for hospitals, kindergartens, swimming pools, buildings used for specific industrial and craft activities, etc.

HOW MUCH YOU SAVE WITH THE NEW HEATING RULES

The new rules on heating will guarantee savings on bills thanks to the 'mandatory' reduction in gas consumption. To get an idea of the savings opportunities guaranteed by the update, you can take a look at the simulations of the Observatory SOStariffe.it and Segugio.it . The survey analyzed three different consumption profiles, highlighting the possibility for a Single (annual consumption of 500 Smc) to be able to save approx 163 euro by the new rules. For a Couple (annual consumption of 800 Smc) there is a saving of approx 204 euro .

The greatest savings come for the families (annual consumption of 1400 Smc) which have the possibility of cutting consumption by approx 265 euro The simulations show us the savings possibilities guaranteed by this new system of rules. In any case, it is always necessary to evaluate the effective margin of savings guaranteed by the new mechanism, which aims to lighten costs thanks to a reduction in consumption, on a case-by-case basis.
