The Association of Parents and Friends of Leukemic Children has been operating at the San Matteo Polyclinic in Pavia for four decades. And now we can all help out. that's how
Agal, the Association of Parents and Friends of Leukemia Children, is a ODV (volunteer organization) that has been operating in Pavia for 40 years, hosting leukemia children being treated at the San Matteo Polyclinic and their families ( www.associazioneagal.org/portale/ ). Despite being a 'small' reality, in 40 years it has hosted over 2,500 families for more than 5,400 people; in 2014 he inaugurated Casa Mirabello, a structure with 10 residential units. In addition to living spaces, Agal offers transport to and from the hospital for day hospital treatment, recreational activities, psychological support, etc.
CREATIVITY OF THE GREAT AND IMAGINATION OF THE LITTLE ONES – Now the association needs the creativity of our readers and, if desired, also the imagination of their little ones. Agal obtained a free stand at 'Artigiano in Fiera', in Rho from 3 to 11 December. They need various objects, jobs of all kinds to offer to the public to raise funds; obviously, the works must be donated free of charge and sent to the AGAL headquarters in Pavia. Furthermore, an initiative aimed at children will also be launched, a competition entitled 'A drawing for Agal': children up to 14 years of age are asked to draw a drawing, all the drawings will be published on a Facebook gallery, the 13 drawings which will receive the most acclaim will compose the AGAL 2023 calendar. There are prizes for the 13 selected designs. The initiatives will make it possible to raise funds to meet the important expenses it incurs on a daily basis to provide totally free help to families and children facing the painful path of leukemia.
ARTISAN AT THE FAIR – On the occasion of Artigiano in Fiera (December 3-11, Fieramilano Rho), Agal will offer the public the artifacts of all those who will have put creativity and solidarity at the service of sick children. All the artisans and craftsmen of Italy (professionals or simple enthusiasts), who want to help Agal will be able to donate their artefacts, works and small jobs free of charge by sending them by November 15th to ' AGAL Association, Casa Mirabello, Via Mirabello 246, 27100 Pavia PV “. The gifts received will be exhibited and proposed at the Fair and distributed against a donation entirely donated to the Association. Those who wish can mark the works with a label indicating their name.
A DESIGN FOR AGAL – 'A drawing for Agal' is aimed at all children in Italy up to 14 years of age with the desire to involve school-age children and teenagers and their families in a charity project that promotes creativity and awareness of issues cornerstone of Agal activities, such as solidarity and hospitality. Through an online competition on Facebook, the 2023 calendar of the Association will be created which will then be distributed during events and demonstrations to collect free donations that will help support the high management costs of hosting needy families. Children who wish to participate will have to create original drawings that have as their theme the months and seasons, friendship and solidarity, the home and hospitality and send them by 31 October 2022 to the email address [email protected] accompanied by the Registration Form available on the website. The regulation with all the instructions for participating will be viewable at the same web address. The drawings received will be published from November 1st to 14th in a gallery specially created on the Agal Association Facebook page (@associazioneagal): in that period the public will be able to vote on the drawings. The 13 designs that will receive the highest number of consents will make up the 2023 Agal calendar.
