HISTORY – Physical education , written by the D'Innocenzo brothers and based on the play the arena by Giorgio Scianna, it is all filmed in the single setting of a provincial school. The principal summons the parents of three pupils who are guilty of a horrible act, the rape of a girl of the same age. But these don't accept the evidence, they turn into 'monsters' and try in every way to cover up the faults of their own children.
THE RELATIONSHIP WITH REALITY - Sergio Rubini notes: «It is a current, raw film that presents a cross-section of our society by narrating its transformation. The institutions have lost credibility and familism shows its worst implications'. Giovanna Mezzogiorno, or rather the integral and inflexible principal: «The film perpetuates stereotypes and prejudices against women who hold court in the male world and beyond. Even among us there is not always solidarity ». Director Stefano Cipani: «I read Scianna's play in 2014 and immediately fell in love with it. The herd attitude of these overprotective parents towards their children was denounced. I thought of developing an important aspect such as that of responsibility, with respect to what happens to us».Source: oggi.it
